Manteles is a family owned Hacienda that opened its doors for first class tourism in 1992. It is characterized for its cozy atmosphere, its personalized service, its delicious home made food, and the beautiful sceneries that surround it. Location: Hacienda Manteles is located in the center of Ecuador, at the province of Tungurahua, between the Llanganati National Park and the Sangay National Park. We are 21 km away from the city of Baños and 11 km away from the town of Patate. The Hacienda is nudged in a valley known by the same name as the farm and it is surrounded with amazing natural views of the Ecuadorian Andes.

At Hacienda Manteles we protect 200 hectares of primary cloud forest where a variety of flora and fauna can be found while hiking within the natural paths. This forest is considered a buffer zone of the Llanganatis National Park, where according to the legend the Inca treasure of Atahualpa remains hidden.

Manteles´ central location makes it the perfect place to explore the surrounding areas and to view the active volcano Tungurahua from a safe area.

Temperature: During the day temperature varies between 15º C and 25º C. At night temperature varies between 10º C and 15ºC. The dry season goes from November to April and the rainy season goes from May to October.

Altitude: 2600 meters over sea level.

Food: Hacienda Manteles is known for its delicious homemade food. At the Hacienda we work under fixed menus which can be determined by the passengers or the travel agency before arrival. The menu includes: A starter or soup, main dish, dessert, tea, coffee and/or herbal water. We prepare our dishes mainly with organic or local products from the surrounding area. 

Sceneries: The majestic landscapes that surround the Hacienda are truly breath taking. From the comfort of your room you can view in full sight the Tungurahua volcano, which is still active today but not harmful in any way to the Hacienda or its guests. On some of our numerous walks around the area one can view the beautiful Chimborazo and Altar, which are world known for being some of the most beautiful peaks within South America.
