The Amazon rainforest is the last territory in the world where tropical flora and fauna can be found everywhere you look, it is the biggest forest in the world and it is known to be “the lungs of the earth”. It is located in the north of South America and in Ecuador; it occupies the eastern part of the country, covering almost half of its land.

Ecuador is known for having the largest diversity of animals per square kilometer in the world and it is third for its variety of amphibians, and fifth for butterflies. In the Ecuadorian jungle you will be able to find the rarest species of birds, reptiles that you have never seen before, insects that you haven’t heard of, mammals that will only be found here and  thousands of different types of trees and plants, most of which have served the inhabitants of the region as natural medicines for centuries.

Some of the people who live here are indigenous communities who preserve their ancestor’s beliefs and traditions and have little contact with the western civilization.

Lakes, biological and biosphere reserves, volcanoes, and many more natural wonders and attractions are waiting for you to help preserve this mysterious and mystic endangered piece of earth.
