Guayaquil: pearl of the Pacific
Known as the pearl of the Pacific, Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador and the head of its economy. It has all the comforts of a metropolis, the openness that can only be found in coastal ports, and the typical flavour of a Caribbean city, although it’s not one.
The beauty and warmth of its people and landscapes have been inspiration to many, who have captured its essence in different artistic expressions.
Guayaquil has experienced a fast growing period during the last 12 years, in which it recovered important traditional sights and has built some wonderful attractions that have given the city a new face with regenerated spaces.
Walk up the stairs of Cerro Santa Ana to have the best view of the city from the traditional neighbourhood of Las Peñas, party the night away in one of the many nightclubs and bars that give life to the city at night, or enjoy its vast commerce.
