Mindo Cloud Forest

Mindo is a discreet and very calm place is located in a valley surrounded by 19,000 hectares of protected primary and secondary forest. Nature is the driving force here: there are approximately 500 varieties of birds and 40 types of butterflies. This great variety in such a small region is unique in South America.

There are many ways to get to Mindo, a car ride takes approximately two hours from Quito. If you want contact with nature and local population cycling is a good choice, departing from Quito this enjoyable journey might be just what you are looking for.
