The departure day will determine the order of visits, but you will experience the
wonderful Otavalo Indian market, the most important and colorful in Ecuador. At
dawn, the Otavaleños go to the market plazas to sell their products such as animals,
vegetables, fruits, and a large variety of colorful handicrafts including art, tapestries,
ponchos, rugs, sweaters, and wood carvings. We have a variety of other things
available to do and see, depending on available time. They include a short trek to see a
waterfall, visits to a typical small village, a textile workshop, a shop where musical
instruments are fabricated, wood carving shops in the famous San Antonio de Ibarra
region, and a stop in Cotacachi which is famous for its carefully crafted leather products
The night will be spent at a beautiful historic hacienda near Otavalo.
